Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup cinnamon
3/4 cup very hot water
Blend the dry ingredients and then add water. Mix well. Roll out and cut with any cookie cutters you choose. Be sure to cut a hole for hanging. I cut mine with a straw. Makes about 18 small ornaments. You don’t need to bake these, however, air drying can take several days especially if, like me, you’ve made them thicker. I ended up pre-heating my oven to about 200 and put the tray of ornaments inside. I then immediately turned off the oven and I left the tray of ornaments there for several hours while the oven cooled. The ornaments will dry a light color but you can bring back the dark color by coating them with a clear coat. I used a can of Rustoleum spray gloss enamel clear coat. Polyurethane would work too.
I used my gingerbread boy cutter. I considered adding details with fabric paint but these were already way too cute as they were. I added a narrow ribbon around the neck and that was enough for me.
